insatiable.

Despite a wave of nausea here and there, I'm pretty much hungry all the time. And if I don't eat whenever I feel the slightest bit hungry, the nausea gets worse! Considering I'm only in my first trimester, it may not be the best idea for me to consume as many calories as I've been packing away lately. I have been doing pretty well at making healthier choices since I found out a baby is growin' in there, though. No soda or caffeine at all. No MSG. A lot less sugar than before (but I'm still eating some sweets), and basically trying to make the most out of the calories I'm eating. But man, still. I'm ravenous. We have a really tight grocery budget right now, so I'm trying to be creative with eating without resorting to stuffing slices of bread in my mouth.

  1. The few times I got nauseous, those bread slices came in handy :) And always have bananas on hand. I remember I started getting those INSANELY PAINFUL leg cramps due to the fact that you basically have a leech growing inside of you :) The baby is taking all the vitamins and potassium deficiency = horrible leg cramps. Once I started eating a banana a day those cramps didn't return. Plus, bananas are known to help with morning sickness so you help two causes.

I remember when I went through the always hungry stage (which lets face it, never left, haha) I couldn't eat enough spinach. Which is good! I think our bodies tell us what we need. Dont worry about weight gain or eating too much. Baby lentil is hungry and growing fast. Try spinach. With squeezed lemon is really good. It helped with my hunger pains a lot.

  2. I just finished second lunch, and I'm looking forward to third lunch in another hour or so. Haha.

  3. I would get up in the middle of the night and pig out on trail mix...it worked great for satisfying my hunger pangs :)

During my nauseous days I ate tons of saltines.
